Lincoln Park Rugby is excited to welcome Jordan Kar to the club! Here are some facts about our newest member & teammate!
Jordan Kar
Position: Prop Hometown: Fairport, NY Former Club: Oklahoma State Rugby
His favorite part about the game is the brotherhood bonds that are formed from playing the sport and meeting people all over the world and have an instant connection through Rugby.
Though he is one of the Logan Square neighborhood’s newest resident, his favorite bar in Chicago is Sluggers in Wrigleyville (batting cages anyone?)
We are pleased to partner, yet again, with local Crossfit gym CrossFit Defined.
We will be hosting pre-season training sessions at their Lakeview facility (3834 N. Broadway) from this Saturday, January 10th through March 7th. Start time is 1pm, so please be there earlier as that is when we start training. Bring clean shoes to work out in, especially if there is inclement weather.
These sessions are free to all club members and potential new players and are a great way to get into shape for the start of the Spring season, but also to get to know some of your teammates if you are new to the club.
We look forward to seeing a few new faces and most of the old ones.
We would like to thank all who joined us last weekend for our annual Christmas Bowling Toy drive.
It was great to see everyone enjoying a night of bowling whilst celebrating the season of giving in bringing your donations.
For the past few years, all bowlers have brought with them a gift that the club then delivers to the Ronald Mcdonald House. These gifts are our small way of helping local children celebrate Christmas while spending the holidays in hospital.
When our former President and long-time player, George Nottoli, finally took off his rugby boots, that was not the end of his athletic endevours.
George took up professional wrestling and became a legend in Chicago Style Wrestling under the name Vito “Two-Fingers” Fontaine; his moniker a reference to his signature move.
