We are a club that endeavours to give back to our local community without who we could not be a success.

Each holiday season, we hold our annual Xmas Sweater Bowling night, at which all particpants bring a children’s toy as part of their entrance fee. These toys are then donated by the club to the Ronald McDonald House who forwards them on to local children’s hospitals.

In past years, we have had several players shave their hair (and eyebrows) to support the St Baldrick’s Foundation for childhood cancer research.

In addition, we’ve had Lincoln Park players cycle several century rides to raise money for JDRF, an organisation that raises funds for Type I Diabetes.

Throughout the year, there are several social events open to both players and supporters of the club. Prhaps the longest established are our themed pub crawls at the end of both the Spring and Fall Seasons.

Each season, we choose a different set of local, Chicago, northside bars and the costume standards are high. A few recent themes include, clowns, Disney characters, cats and most recently of all Smurfs.

The holiday season sees our annual Xmas Sweater Bowling night. This is also a “Toys for Tots” type fundraiser wher everyone is encouraged to bring a child’s toy which we donate to the Ronald McDonald House for kids who are spending their Christmas in hospital.

Other past events have included golf outings and trips to Soldier Field for the international rugby games.

At the start of each year we celebrate the achievements of the past season with our Annual Awards Banquet.

This is a chance for all our players to scrub up and recognize their peers.

We have several awards. Four are voted on by the players and are named after the club’s founder Jerry Fohrman.

We have two additional awards voted on by the coaching staff.

• Paul Wilson Clubman of the Year

As with our other social events, this event is open to friends, family and supporters of the club as well as players.
