With one of our own team members becoming a cancer survivor this year, Lincoln Park Rugby joined participants all over the world in the Movember initiative. Several club players put away their razors for the month and grew the hairy caterpillar. Their attempts ranged from an ink smudge to a ‘stache that would have made Tom Selleck proud.
Our fundraising went towards the Movember Foundation. Please click the link to read move about the work they do.
Our initial goal was $1500, but thanks to the incredible support of other club members and also those who support our club, both on a game day but especially in endeavours such as these, we blew past that goal and raised close to 4 times that total at just under $6000.
Thank you to all who donated and made this such a success.
Please revisit this site to see what else we may have in store in the future. Our next fundraiser will be run in conjunction with our Annual Xmas Sweater Bowling Party. For this event, we are asking that each bowler bring a toy which we will be distributing to the Lurie Children’s Hospital to bring a little Christmas joy to those kids who must, unfortunately, be away from home for the holidays.

Once again, join LPRFC for our Annual Christmas Ugly Sweater Bowling Outing. This year, we are asking everyone to bring a toy which we will be donating to the Lurie Children’s Hospital to bring a little Xmas joy to those who must, unfortunately, spend the holiday period away from home.
While toys for all ages are welcome, we are especially in need of gifts for infants and teenagers.

With the Spring 15’s season coming to a close after a successful run to the Midwest semi-final, we are starting to gear up for the 7’s over the summer months.
7’s training will begin on May 16th and continue every Tuesday and Thursday at 7 pm. The location is Belmont Harbour just south of the Trapeze School.
This is available to both current players and anyone new to the club or those players who may be back in Chicago for the summer. Depending on availability, we typically enter teams in most of the Midwest tournaments and will often have two sides if the interest is such.
Please contact Nate Brady for more details.

Many thanks to all who donated and supported the club in our own support of the recent St Baldricks charity event to raise awareness of and help find a cure for childhood cancer.
Special thanks to Corey Jahner and Bill Shank who now sport a new summer buzz.
Several of the team were there in person to cheer on their teammates in this worthwhile endeavor. All in all, the club raised just under $2000 for this worthy cause.
If you are looking for help in your own cause, give us a call. We are especially seeking local charities and events for which we can give some of our time and assist your efforts in the Chicago community.
