2018 Banquet Celebrations

Saturday 24th February saw Lincoln Park players and guests in their finery to celebrate the efforts of the past year and recognise their outstanding players.

Maggianos was the venue and as usual, everyone dressed to impress, including Kyle Andrus with a luxurious velvet jacket in club colours.

The awards are on the whole voted on by their peers with the exception of Rookie of the Year and Coaches Award which are selected by the coaching staff.

Xmas Bowling Toy Drive Follow-up

Xmas Bowling Toy Drive Follow-up

Thanks to all who came out to the Xmas Ugly Sweater Bowling party on Friday night. Timber Lanes was full of the finest Christmas clothing.

This was certainly one of the best-attended bowling nights we have had in recent years. However, it is doubtful that we shall be ready to challenge Big Ern McCracken just yet.

The Christmas spirit was both embraced and imbibed by all and we collected somewhere in the region of 40-50 toys that have been donated to the Ronald McDonald House and will be distributed to local hospitals, primarily the Lurie Children’s Hospital here in Chicago.

Movember Fundraising

With one of our own team members becoming a cancer survivor this year, Lincoln Park Rugby joined participants all over the world in the Movember initiative. Several club players put away their razors for the month and grew the hairy caterpillar.  Their attempts ranged from an ink smudge to a ‘stache that would have made Tom Selleck proud.

Our fundraising went towards the Movember Foundation. Please click the link to read move about the work they do.

Our initial goal was $1500, but thanks to the incredible support of other club members and also those who support our club, both on a game day but especially in endeavours such as these, we blew past that goal and raised close to 4 times that total at just under $6000.

Thank you to all who donated and made this such a success.

Please revisit this site to see what else we may have in store in the future. Our next fundraiser will be run in conjunction with our Annual Xmas Sweater Bowling Party. For this event, we are asking that each bowler bring a toy which we will be distributing to the Lurie Children’s Hospital to bring a little Christmas joy to those kids who must, unfortunately, be away from home for the holidays.

Xmas Sweater Bowling 2017

Xmas Sweater Bowling 2017

Once again, join LPRFC for our Annual Christmas Ugly Sweater Bowling Outing. This year, we are asking everyone to bring a toy which we will be donating to the Lurie Children’s Hospital to bring a little Xmas joy to those who must, unfortunately, spend the holiday period away from home.

While toys for all ages are welcome, we are especially in need of gifts for infants and teenagers.

2017 Sevens Training

2017 Sevens Training

With the Spring 15’s season coming to a close after a successful run to the Midwest semi-final, we are starting to gear up for the 7’s over the summer months.

7’s training will begin on May 16th and continue every Tuesday and Thursday at 7 pm. The location is Belmont Harbour just south of the Trapeze School.

This is available to both current players and anyone new to the club or those players who may be back in Chicago for the summer. Depending on availability, we typically enter teams in most of the Midwest tournaments and will often have two sides if the interest is such.

Please contact Nate Brady for more details.
